My journey through IM

Part I
Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

This title song, for the sitcom cheers, actually comes to my mind whenever I think about IM, the India (moderated) community on Orkut. The community always maintained the top 3-4 position in the active communities page. This community helped me solidify my views on many socio, political and even religious points.
I was always not interested in chatting and doing time-pass on the internet. Few years back
if someone were telling me that I would be spending 18 hrs flat on the internet, I would have simple whisked them off. But today I see I have already set the record.

Well, I do not fairly remember how i landed into something called India(moderated) but I think it was when my online friend Susheel Sundar (Beer boy aka BB) once message me that something has to be done to save India. The next day I am suddenly invited to this new community called India Moderated (IM).
Its Purpose?? to provide a fair and square platform to discuss about various issues in India and have it under control, Moderation.

I was reluctant having a freestyle fighting in many (so-called) Indian communities about my point of view. But i said why not...ek aur sahi!!!

And so I reluctantly click the forums and wallah, the first thread that came was, '
The longest thread ever,' ironically there were only 2-3 post in that thread but it did carry some of the best namoonas on orkut. It was actually a chat thread which was later deleted accidently and recreated, it now boast of beign the longest one (252,534 post) on IM, thats the short for India Moderated. That was the chat thread where people use to hang out.

In IM there used to be sane posts.... mainly social related and I came to know more about society and culture. I am a die hard Nathuram Godse follower and naturally I saw many nice points against my views over there. Eventually, I learned some of my views where wrong and some of them strengthened.

I participated in lot of theists v/s atheists debates. It just made me more stronger theist. I also came to know that theism is not being religious. So I took both sides of debate, when it was non-existent of God i was a Theist, and when it came to religion I was a Atheist.

I was always a poor reader and even more lazy writer. And many people, few mentioned below where big big essay writers, so I developed a habit of reading the first 2 and last 2 lines of the post and comment using a (:o) smiley...this was kinda fun until I actually missed the nice topics only 2 join in d debate weeks later.

Why am I leaving then? Well we all got to move on, I had fun time socializing and making friends, but now I have some serious commitment in my life. My graduation is just few months later and my after life begins next months. I seriously loved the time on IM and hope that I will meet personally each and every person I interacted online.
