What defines success? Is it getting top in you class? Or getting that well awaited promotion? Well i asked my friend and he said, 'he wants to get the best job possible and settle once in for life.'
One of my colleague mentions she just wants to get married to someone successful.

Well different people different perceptions.

So is success getting your name in the newspaper? In that case i would say Verappan was the most successful man in India (At least his mustache where famous).
Is success becoming topper in class? Then the young geek who topped the class in economics and sat as a clerk working for the backbencher is successful?
Is getting lotsa money and assets successful? Well, doesn't the international Don got too much assets? No they are also not successful.

If you go back to stone age, people would define, Success means getting the regular pieces of meat home for dinner or maybe the house on top of the hill where the predators cannot reach him.

Pondering over these questions, i asked a wise man (who actually is wise) and he answered..."Success simply means, at the end of the day you should sleep peacefully"

Lo and behold, the genesis moment, let there be light into my head. Bingo, yapsy.

It dawned on me, obviously what he said was right. You get all the wealth in the world but you won't be able to sleep properly for the fear of losing it.

If you are the topper in the class, also you will be afraid of losing your position, that doesn't imply you do not study. (Parents, i am NOT teaching bad habits to your kids :P)

The quotes from Vedas are beneficial here,
"कर्मन्येवाधिकारस्ते माँ फलेषु कदचन |
मा कर्मफलाहेतुर्भु: मा ते संगोस्त्वा अकर्मणि"
Do your work properly and honestly and you get successful. Even the prakop of kalyug won't be seen thus.
hmmm... well thoughts to ponder on. Obviously i wanna be successful soon, but first i am gonna look for the shortcut to success (I heard its in beer bottle with your boss) if I don't find any, i might take a longer route...lets see if we meet enroute. ;)
