Why So Serious????

Oh yes, it doesn't take brains of Einstein to know what this post is about, Why so Serious? is one of the most popular dialogue in the modern television. Ok, you still don't geddit??? The Joker. Even those who do not like comics, cartoons and comic movies know who I am talking about.

I just purchased a copy of The Killing Joke written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland and ohmigod...it has changed my view towards the whole Batman-Joker saga.

The book is about the psychological battle between Batman and Joker. The joker is loose in town and wishes to show Gotman, Batman and Gordon what a 'one bad day' can do to a person.

The book also tells us the story of Joker, how he became such. The book written marvelously and so brilliant that you just awe at the plot.

The book potrays Joker as the mirror image of Batman. Both of them result of 'a one bad day', as Joker says, 'You had a bad day once, am I right?... Why else would you dress up like a flying rat?' to which Batman laughs hysterically like the Joker!!!!!

Also most of the narration is the Jokers, so it is unreliable "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another...If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!"

The book is simply brilliant and you got to read it once.

So what't the Killing Joke anyway???

See, there were these two guys in a lunatic asylum... and one night, one night they decide they don't like living in an asylum any more. They decide they're going to escape! So, like, they get up onto the roof, and there, just across this narrow gap, they see the rooftops of the town, stretching away in the moon light... stretching away to freedom. Now, the first guy, he jumps right across with no problem. But his friend, his friend didn't dare make the leap. Y'see... Y'see, he's afraid of falling. So then, the first guy has an idea... He says "Hey! I have my flashlight with me! I'll shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk along the beam and join me!" B-but the second guy just shakes his head. He suh-says... He says "Wh-what do you think I am? Crazy? You'd turn it off when I was half way across!"

Brilliant isn't it??? It potrays the journey of Batman and Joker!!!!

My Rating: 9.9/10 (.1 reduced for...ha ha ha ha ha, Joker effect)
