Have you been roasted recently?

I weight in three digits. Probably not as fat as Tanmay Bhatt but still not as slim as Arjun Kapoor. I fall somewhere in between. When you are fat, you are eternally roasted with different people, most common includes the pregnancy joke (how many months pregnant are you, spoken by 3227 people since I started counting). There are people who take offend to that, there are some who do not. If you are someone who takes offend to that, I will suggest never travel to the top-four states in North. Perhaps if you are living in there, you do not know to respond to someone using expletives against you. While this issue was being dragged, one old man tried to  sneakily touch a girl in a flight , but how dare the girl? She went against our culture and disrespected the elder. When AIB started as a radio show, it was funny. Yes it was but I couldn't open it in office, it started with a NSFW tag with their B. The show was filled with crass against different things that was passed as comedy...

That itch on your back that cannot be scratched

"Arvind Kejriwal..." he began the sentence. Since this election has come up many of my friends are bitten by this new fever. All of the sudden, without any warning, without any notice they will begin the sentence taking name of their favorite politician (earlier the words were reserved for Sachin Tendulkar and Sehwag) "... Arvind Kejriwal was part of the system and has finally vowed to change it," my friend said proudly driving the unserviced vehicle on M.G. Road. "When was the last time you did a P.U.C.," I asked matter of factly because we were painting the town black. "I don't remember," he said, "My father must have done it before he gave me this car." "As I remember your father gave you this car almost seven years ago when we were in college, right?" I asked. "Yeah man," he said changing the topic, "But think what Arvind Kejriwal can do when we make him the Prime Minister of the country....

How banning books is pushing us back by a century

From time to time nowadays certain people choose to start a one sided debate against me over my views. I won't go to the length of calling these voices as an organized effort by a political outfit or a group like those high class ignorant journalist. No, these people are passionate and true believers about their political leader, spiritual leader or religious leader. I don't deny making a provoking statement so that one of these start a debate on Twitter, the intention is not malicious, mind you, because debate improves knowledge, progresses society. Journalism was once a profession that welcomed debate, nowadays it is imposing views between commercial breaks. But bashing journalist is not the point of this post (I just do it for fun), the point of the blog is this people are afraid of change. People are afraid of things that change and will go to any length to prevent it from happening. On the eve of Penguin rekindled the age old battle between creative liberties a...

Show Some Respect, My Fellow Indian

India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters. The vague memory I have from my school days is singing the national pledge without giving a thought about its words or what it actually meant. When the boys hit puberty, a most common running joke was about all Indians becoming sisters (not sure if the same joke ran on the girls side). The school got over and we moved on to college, people forgot the national anthem, let alone the pledge. Life hit hard and fast, it was survival of the fittest in the wild. The rosy picture got over and we realized by the time we will complete our education, there are absolutely no jobs available for those anything less than an engineer or a doctor. It was dog vs dog world out there and survival was imperative. Entering corporate world was not a big relief since 3000 of other people were fighting for the same thing. So all in all, surviving in India was a big fight and if all Indians are my brothers and sisters, it was Cain and Abel all ove...

But you are an Indian...

Hen:"You don't eat with your hands?" Me: "No..." getting busy with my food using spoon and fork. Hen: "But you are an Indian, why don't you eat with your hands?" Me: "What?" Hen: "Oh c'mon its obvious, I know you Indians eat food with your own hands chicken curry tikka masala."

India is a developing country…. someone, somewhere is always developing something!!!

In the geography class when the teacher used to tell, "India is a developing country," for a moment I was confused, what is developed country I asked. She fumbled with her saree and explained something that was nowhere closed to the answer very confidently. Still however, I never understood the meaning of the sentence and that was the B.W. era, aka Before Wikipedia in fact it was Before Internet era, so there was no one other than my school text book who could give me this information. I remember walking sadly home, that why my country is still developing when it dawned on me. It occurred to be when I was walking home one day from school and I fell in a ditch dug  on the road. I could have sworn that the ditch did not exist fifteen minutes before, no one believed me. However it dawned me inside the ditch that, India is a developing country because someone somewhere is always developing something. It was uncanny. The street outside my house was dug ...

Top 10 Reasons I am not a Stereotype Indian

Life as it stands often comes back in complete circles and however you may not like you, you have to walk on its circumference. However you may want to distance yourself from anything the thing remains with yourself forever and ever. Now, obviously speaking, looking at the title there must be blood boiling in your rage which party or foreign power did I join in, the one interesting in our politics or our religion. Well, nothing like it. The point is with the rise of social networks there is a rise of phenomenon called the Delhi Boy Complex, when there is some article that brings a mass people to senses, they shout out loud to opposite it and in turn prove it. So as it turns out, I was hanging around with some old buddies and we were discussing this so-called article by an NRI who left India because of certain reasons. I did agree with him on many points, as in, with the Sardar Jokes and stuff, when my old friend replied, 'Dude, you are anyways born in a wrong country, may...

Suicidal Tendencies

Suicide is overrated. Of course the death of a person is a very tragic day in a persons life. Its like one of those days you cannot miss, like the day you are born, or the day you get your puberty. Obviously death is a tragic thing and many sentiments are attached to it. However the reasons that appear for the suicides are clearly suicidal and due to amplifying the horror of death by million times, suicide appear to be the worst possible case for any individual to be in. So, this post is in response to the increasing suicidal tendencies in the country. People are finding it hard to cope up with the hardship and hoping that killing will solve the problem. In one news a student decided to commit suicide, because she could not bear because of derogatory comments made by her boyfriend on facebook. Breakups can be hard, agreed but my most important question is, why was the girl in IIM if she was this.... for want of a better word out of respect for the...

To the Parents of the Blowjob Generation

Oh what blasphemy have I committed writing the words 'parents' and the 'blowjob' in the same sentence. Maybe this thing was not at all said in the entire indian subcontinent for the past millions of years (the amount of the number of years is directly proportional to the darkness of the saffron color you choose to wear), that is the sentence often heard when this topic edges closer. The next immediate response is, blowjob generation is not what our culture is and I am going to rotate around a God for a thousand times so that I will wash of the sins of the sons or daughter who committed this crime. Or this ones more funny, this all things are downwind from the America, we and our children have nothing to do with it. Well, to anyone and whoever had any or all the above reactions on reading the topic, wake up and smell the coffee. Yes, 80% of the students in Indian metros are getting blow jobs and obviously they are liking it but more than that, they are blaming...

The difference between Rape, Sex and Love

I was just rummaging through TV channels looking for some entertainment (obviously, I had not known the horrors of Indian television and obviously, now that I know, I won’t repeat it again) when I landed on a channel which showed some bizarre Bollywood movie (don’t ask me which, I am not yet subjected to such Bizarreness, crap, I don’t even know how to know which movie it was) which was portraying a court case of a rape victim. The verdict went on something like this, from the bits that I picked up, the man that had raped her stood shamelessly in front of the girl, while the girl hung her head low in shame opposite to him. Apart from bad acting, one other thing I noticed was grossly mis-interpreted version of a court case of a rape victim. I am not familiar with the legal proceedings, but my question is, rape is the fundamental aggregation on the soul of the woman. Can you penalize the guilty? Can the person who committed the horrible crime be punished enough for the tr...

An ode to being Indian....

Lets tweet a revolution together!!!

After the recent stripping for patriotism campaign a new anti-corruption wave has  hit the country, it has became a fashion statement to shout, 'Mera neta chor hai'. People are twitting day and night about the corruption and asking for support to Anna in his 40 hours fast (so far) Anna Hazare is a brave man, he chose to go on a fast until death exactly after world cup and before the start of IPL. Yes, good for him, people would have to choose between India vs Pakistan and him, the choice won't be nice. Corruption is a serious issue happening in India. There must be some sort of voodoo magic happening that is corrupting every person ruling the nation. The Jan Lokpal bill proposed by Anna Hazare and some other publicity hogging social activist (don't blame me, I support Hazare don't ask me to support Sarabhai) is magical, amazing, incredible and dangerous. If we look at the history of India, you will find many similarities in what is happening now and what has ha...

The Republic of India

The oldest memory of Republic day I have is that of my parents watching the republic day parade. Obviously as a small child I was assumed of having no brain and choice and come what I may say, no one would agree tom and jerry is better than the parade. So profound effect it had on me, that last year, I decided to see the parade in the stands, which was a boring experience, should I add and a pickpocket decided to use his right to freedom and stole the five hundred rupees from my pocket. But then again, they say we should feel proud about the republic day parade and have a sense of patriotism on seeing the tricolor unfurl.  I never felt so. Obviously as a symbologist, I know that symbols have meaning and if conveyed properly they can move mountains (literally) or transform the thinking of a human being, but then also, if forced to believe in something symbols render no meaning at all. On the night of 14th August 1947 at the zero hour (00:00) the Union Ja...
